The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) expressed gratitude to Alaska legislators for concluding their session without implementing any new taxes. Thor Stacey, Alaska state director for NFIB, appreciated the lawmakers' efforts, describing the outcome as a gift to small businesses on NFIB's 80th anniversary.

Stacey highlighted the relief brought by the absence of new taxes and the establishment of a state spending plan that prevented a potential government shutdown. He emphasized the importance of predictability for small-business owners, allowing them to plan better for hiring and expansion.

Thor Stacey remarked, "No group of people in America have endured more than small-business owners, who are still crawling out of all that the pandemic brought." He added that the passage of a new state budget in a one-day special session was crucial and acknowledged the efforts of the legislators who addressed the challenge.

NFIB continues to support small and independent business owners, marking its 80 years of advocacy in Washington, D.C., and all 50 states.
