FOIA Request to Alaska Department of Education & Early Development Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.
In our continued commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Last Frontier News have submitted a request under the Alaska Open Records Law, A.S. Code § 40-25-110 et seq., to the Alaska Department of Education & Early Development. The request seeks access to a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools, including all required courses and/or general instruction.
As members of the media, we believe in the importance of holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Access to such records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
We will continue to keep you updated as we await a response from the Alaska Department of Education & Early Development.
