(Fairbanks, AK) – On May 1, 2023, a Fairbanks jury returned a guilty verdict for murder in the first degree against Patrick Marsh, 29, for the May 12, 2019 murder of Trisha Pearson.

On May 13, 2019, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a body potentially at a home on Yankovich Road in Fairbanks. When Troopers arrived, they found the body of 69-year-old Trisha Pearson. A video surveillance system in the home captured the murder. Marsh subsequently confessed to Ms. Pearson’s death, caused by blunt force trauma and asphyxiation. She was the landlord for Marsh’s friend.

The trial in this case began on April 24, 2023, and attorneys presented their closing arguments today. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 6 and Nov. 7.

Assistant District Attorney Anna Ralph, who tried the case on behalf of the State, thanks the Alaska State Troopers for their work investigating this matter. Fairbanks District Attorney Joe Dallaire commends ADA Ralph and Paralegal Allison Watega for their diligence and professionalism in the pursuit of justice on this case.
