Michael: Veteran spotlight | DNR

From November 24, 2022 post.

Today’s Warrior Wednesday DNR Veteran spotlight is Michael, who served in the United States Marine Corps for more than 6 years and now works as Wildland Fire Dispatcher in Alaska DNR - Division of Forestry & Fire Protection - DOF. He’s been with DNR for 2 years!

Reason for joining DNR: I just needed a job, but it ended up being much more than that.

Why Veterans should consider applying to DNR: The comradery that you find in Forestry is very comparative to what you would find in the military, so if you think that is something you’ve been missing at your current job, try working for the Division of Forestry and Fire Protection.

DNR is honored to recognize the military Veterans who served our country before joining the Department to serve Alaskans. Some of these DNR ambassadors are sharing their amazing stories of service during the month of November. Our sincere thanks to all members of the U.S. military.
