Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities issued the following announcement on March 4.
Richardson Highway travelers: the road is CLOSED at Thompson Pass (miles 37-46) so our crew can clear an avalanche (again!). Updates will be posted tonight not later than 8 p.m. at 511.alaska.gov--please go there for the latest info. Thank you for your patience! Travel smart and stay safe!
